Traditionally, wedding vows formed an integral part of wedding ceremonies cross culturally. What it all comes down to is that wedding vows are not what they used to be. Almost anything goes, but the most important thing is to do what you are comfortable with. You don't want to spoil your special day with the wrong choice of wedding vows and if you are a very emotional person then delivering your own wedding vows might not be the best option.
